Limitless

Profiles are funny things. When asked about ourselves we often stumble for words and struggle to know what to say. But if we are asked about our work or our kids people can't get us to shut up. So here goes a modest description of who I am and what has earned me the right to share and voice my opinion on the topics that I write about.

There have been many things in my life that have brought me to where I am now. When I graduated college with a Bachelor's in Mass Communication I had high hopes of climbing the corporate ladder and for a short time that was my pursuit. I gained valuable knowledge about how the "real" world works and will never regret the time that I've spent in corporate America. However, when my third child made his arrival in this world 15 weeks early my priorities quickly and drastically changed. Corporate America was no longer important and rather than trying to make my mark in a world that was perfectly willing to leave me in the dust I focused my efforts on fighting the fights that matter.

I have held positions in technical writing, bank compliance, telemarketing, sales, collections, editorial, and daycare. I know what it's like to have your world fall apart and to have to make the conscious decision to pick yourself up and move forward in some direction or take the risk of perishing where you are.

My outlook on life now is very realistic. Black and white opinions and I don't have much time for the nonsense fluff of the media. I've learned much about healthcare, doctors, and insurance. I'm not afraid to be a thorn in someone’s side if it means a better answer for my kids and I give praises freely to those who deserve them. Because of the unique circumstances that have visited my family we know more than many and I strive to share that knowledge in order to help make the journey of others a little easier.

So there you go. Just a little bit about whom I am as a person and some of my outlooks on life. Do you regret asking?
